Most of our players are regular people with no special needs at all. On the other hand, we have started accepting people with special needs into our group with open arms. One such individual is Lioness. She has been disabled for all of her life and was finaly wheelchair bond a few yeaars ago. She now joins us every Sunday to fight with us on the field for fun and fighting.
When she first cam to Amtgard she didn't know what to expect due to her disablity. Her first class she played was a base healer. She stayed at base casting some healing spells and some "buffing" spells to help her team. She eventually wanted to do more and with the help of Voshe and Mathulhu she was allowed on the field as a regular archer with a few rule changes for her to keep things safe. She gets on the field and gets tagged by other players regularly now and she loves every minute of it. It gives her exercise and a place to be socially active with people who acccepts her as friends and family.
